State of Hesse to support DFI from 2025

The state of Hesse will support the DECHEMA Research Institute (DFI) with an annual operating grant of 1.5 million euros for the first time from 2025. Kaweh Mansoori, Hessian Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas (SPD), announced this to the institute's employees during a visit to the DFI in Frankfurt am Main on 18 December 2024.

‘Innovation is crucial to mastering the challenges of the future and strengthening Hesse as a business location. With this grant, we are promoting technological excellence and creating valuable prospects for highly qualified workers in Hesse,’ said the Minister, explaining the decision. ‘The DECHEMA Research Institute is doing outstanding work - from hydrogen technologies to CO₂ conversion. Research that strengthens climate protection, the energy transition and our economy,’ Mansoori continued.

Mathias Galetz, Director of the DFI, commented: ‘Thanks to the support now promised by the state of Hesse, the institute has planning security for the coming years and we can successfully continue our innovative research and the associated technology transfer into industrial practice.’
