Targeted Technology Transfer

At DECHEMA-Forschungsinstitut we bridge the gap between fundamental research and industrial application. In research projects with industrial companies we know what matters to our partners. Also in fundamental research we already think of later application. We stand for target-oriented technology transfer.

Innovation-oriented Fundamental Research

DFI is a non-profit research institution and strictly follows the rules of Good Scientific Practice. We are recognised by all public funders for our well-grounded scientific work. Our special feature: Even in basic research we are inspired by practical research questions and thus we prepare the path for innovation at an early stage.

Industrial Joint Research and Collaborative Research

We are working each year on more than 40 publicly funded projects. Federal ministries and the EU regularly entrust us with their funding. For our research projects we always select strong partners from industry and academia who perfectly complement each other by their respective expertise.

Bilateral Industrial Research

We are a high-performing partner of industry, particularly of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As a founding member of Zuse-Gemeinschaft we see ourselves as innovation driver for the small firm sector. More than 300 companies in apparatus and plant engineering, chemical industry, energy, automotive and aviation as well as biotechnology benefit from co-operation with DFI.
