The "Keramos" Award No. 60 of the AGH University of Krakow, Poland, was awarded on 6 October 2023 to DFI Executive Board member Associate Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mathias Galetz for his distinguished contribution to the scientific and educational development in the field of ceramics, oxides and materials engineering.
It was also awarded for initiating, directing and developing effective scientific and research cooperation between the DECHEMA Forschungsinstitut and the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
The name of the award comes from the Greek word keramos, meaning clay, which has been used by mankind for millennia to produce ceramic objects.
