DFI involvement at Gordon Research Conference „High Temperature Corrosion“

2019-07-27 |

Three scientists of the DECHEMA-Forschungsinstitut (DFI) participated from 21.07 to 26.07 2019 at the Gordon Research Conference „High Temperature Corrosion“ in New London (USA).

The high level expertise of the DFI in High Temperature Corrosion was reflected by one  speech at the conference and two contributions at the Gordon Research Seminar prior tot he event.

At the conference Dr. Mathias Galetz presented the latest insights on the damage mechanism "Metal Dusting“, which has high priority fort he industrial sector.

Prior to the conference graduate students Tobias Meißner and Lukas Mengis presented their researches on „Diffusion Coatings for Corrosion Protection of Ferritic-Martensitic Steels for Co-Firing Biomass with Coal" and „"Comparative Study on the Oxide Growth Characteristics and Microstructural Changes of Two Commercial TiAl Alloys After Isothermal Oxidation in Air" at the seminar.

The two-yearly conference is the leading meeting of international scientists in the field of high temperature corrosion. With 150 participants, one session and a compact length of presentation with discussion submits intio an intensive exchange and workshop similar atmosphere.
