Development of an electroenzymatic process for the production of terpenoid compounds with optimized monooxygenases

The aim of the project is the development of an electro enzymatic process for the production of novel antimicrobial agents with the monooxygenase P450cin. Therefore, the optimization of the biocatalyst, the electrochemical substitution of the natural cofactor and the development of a bioelectrochemical process concept are addressed. At the end of the project an electro enzymatic process as a technology platform for the important oxy-functionalization of terpene derivatives will be developed and validated. This will open further applications for electro enzymatic processes in synthetic chemistry.
