In the current issue of the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology (Open Access), results from the joint projects TubulAir± and Tubulyze are published. The working group Electrochemistry of the DECHEMA Research Institute (DFI) is involved in both projects and the work "Atomic layer deposition for efficient oxygen evolution reaction at Pt/Ir catalyst layers" has been developed together with project partners of the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the DWI and AVT at RWTH Aachen University.
The authors Stefanie Schlicht, Korcan Percin, Stefanie Kriescher, André Hofer, Claudia Weidlich (DFI), Matthias Wessling and Julien Bachmann describe and compare in their work different methods of depositing the catalyst materials platinum and iridium on titanium electrodes for application in fuel cells and vanadium air flow batteries.
The joint projects "TubulAir±" and "Tubulyze" are funded by the BMBF (03SF0436G and 03SF0564A).
